Hey Guys,
Basically I need Some Advice..
I am currently a secure tenant of B’ham City Council and have a flat in a highrise, However back in march i was assulted in my home by someone in the block this happened with my two kids in the property, 3yr old and 4month old , I phoned police and went and stayed at my sisters, overall police didnt want to know and said there wasnt enough evidence and person who assulted me denied it ever happened, so fast forward, ive tried going back to property in april but 3 year old refuses to be in the house. Runs and hides if door knocks, wont sleep or play in her own room , so ive ended up back at my sisters and have been here since april, have tried to get council to move me but they wont and now i have no option but to go private, council pay for my rent and council tax , my question is – how do i transistion from a council tenant to private and apply for housing benefit ect?
I am only 20 and suffer mental health issues and anxiety, so all this is getting me down, my psychiatrist has even written to the council asking them to move me but they refuse . I want a better life for me and my girls and a fresh start! HELP! Xx
