Ppp. I’m posting for a friend. Basically my friend has a daughter who is 7 years old. As far as he was was aware his child was known at school by his surname. All her books are In his surname. He received her school report and his little girl was known as her mum’s name. His slightly confused because he thought she was down as his surname. He asked the mum why and she said because she wanted to have the same name as her little brother (who’s not at school yet) . He knows his little girl knows her surname as because when they do homework together she has to write her full name down and put his last name. So his really confused by this. He doesn’t know what to do and feels quite upset like she wants her to change her name. He doesn’t have contact with the school. Should he just leave it as it is? He hasn’t expressed how he feels about it to mum as she made it clear it’s what his little girl wants. He doesn’t want to mention it to his little girl as he doesn’t want her to be put in the middle of it and feel pressured to make the other parent happy but saying what they want to here. Tia xx
