Ppp, just wondered the rules on having a second C-section after having an emergency one first time round. Reason for first one was ‘distressed baby and failure to progress (dilate)’
I’m now 12 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and wondered what happens? Do I have to have another or? I think I’m being referred to doctor by my midwife at 16 weeks but just wanted to know before hand

  • I had emergency c-section with my first and wanted a natural with my second and they were fine with that. As long as there no problems along the way it is up to you, but my advice is talk to the doctors/ midwives and express how you feel. I ended up having another c-section due to my daughter not growing towards the end and with the complications I had with my son is didn’t want to risk her life but I never felt pressured the choice was mine in the end. Good luck with everything.

  • My first was an emergency c-section. You get referred to the consultant and you both decide whether you can try for a vbac or a planned csection. I tried for a vbac with my 2nd but ended up with another emergency c-section so my 3rd I had a planned csection x

  • My son was born as an emergency section due to failure to dilate and he also turned last minute! I was referred to the consultant with my second and she was born by section too! All cases will be different! Hope all goes well for you x
