Sterilising as far as I’m aware is all down to circumstances. I’m 29 and had my 2nd and last baby when I was 28. The consultant told me I could be steralised if I wanted to. If you pay for it, then yeah. But if not, I doubt it without good reason.
I don’t know about termination but we were offered it as simple as a tick box when I had my c section, so sounds like it depends on your area x
I don’t think they would at the same time, they agreed to sterilize me at 28 due to 3 children, 2 diff dads and bad mental health I did have to fight for it tho as they said I was to young xx
Highly unlikely due to the fact that they only normally provide it for people who are 30+ with 3+children mixed sex. Or for medical reasons ie life threatening. You can be eligible if you go privately and pay but on the NHS its difficult to get. They will probably advise you to take more care on the prevention of pregnancy rather than offer you that also terminate are not usually done by your gp
It depends on where you live. In the UK they are usually quite strict. I know when I decide to have my next child that I am getting a c-section and sterilised at the same time… I am only allowed one more child as my first birth was a very traumatic experience and I had many complications in the pregnancy. I was told this at 19 and am now 22. I am seen as “lucky” by some women who are begging to be sterilised as you are usually told that you may want kids in the future, you must have three kids or medical issues warranting sterilisation, they don’t like doing it under the age of 30 etc. It is rather difficult to obtain one here in my opinion. Obviously, you can ask but don’t be too disheartened if they say no as there are many rules they have to follow. I have heard that on many occasions they like to assess you psychologically to ascertain if you are fit to request it as well due to the fact that you may change your mind about kids. :S
My Dr said yes. I live in the US in Minnesota and you can get an elective sterilization at any time for any reason.
