Ppp x

I’m probably going to come off as a horrible Mother here, but just wondered everybody else’s opinions?

How often do you play with your children? What do you play if you do? I like having days out and taking them to fun places but when we’re at home I just can’t stand “playing” it’s like nails on a chalk board for me, I love reading to them and things like that but pretend play or making things just irritates, then I feel bad for telling my daughter to go and play, am I awful for telling her to play by herself? She has so many toys and things to do, is anybody else the same?

  • reading and board games and lego. no imaginary play here. not my bag. and funnily was the only thing my oldest didn’t excel at at nursery. not sure if it’s nature and he takes after me or nurture and I failed him lol. my youngest does it alone well though.

  • Don’t be so hard on yourself, we are but human. I love to play silly games, crafty stuff ect but that is me! You enjoy reading, how about you and your child make a book together. Make up a story and draw the story with them??

  • Me and my 6 year old can very often be found playing hide and seek at home, we like to do arts and crafts, baking, he loves helping me to cook dinner, we build things with his Lego and build forts with sofa cushions to eat our snacks in…. There’s loads of things you can do, once you get into it you’ll find it’s not boring at all x

  • I love reading to my son & i cant wait till he is old enough to pretend to make me cup of tea & play. I dont understand how it can irritate you as its all fun & learning for them.
