My son (17 months) has been doing something I can only described as head banging although it’s technically not as docter has said he isn’t doing it to hurt him self. So he is moving back and forth banging his head against the sofa, sat on floor with back against sofa doing it to back of head (it’s soft but can get really fast) I have been trying my best to distract him as much as I can, it’s awful and embarrassing when I have visitors, I just don’t know what to do. Doc n hv said it’s a comfort thing but it’s really not nice to see, he is now doing it in his cot (soft on bars never were I think it’s hurting him) just need advice or story’s of anyone who has been through or going through same thing.
