This doesn’t have anything to do with being a mum but I want to know if other people have had to deal with this type of situation.

QUITE A SENSITIVE SUBJECT, NO BASHING PLEASE!

My partners Great-Auntie lives in Tenerife and has done for a lot of years. She’s 90 years old now. She has dementia and needs 24 hour care. She had a very large sum of money in her savings (approx £250,000) which over the years has been getting lower and lower with a specific care worker. We all know that this care worker has been spending it, she has made this poor old woman live with her and rented out her property to a friend to take the profit for herself.
My mother and father in law have just come back from visiting her and she is adamant that her care worker is trying to harm her and repeats the same things that she has been dragged out of cars and been made to take more medication than is needed. She is put to bed in the afternoon until dinner, fed, cleaned and back in bed she goes.
We have all tried to persuade her to come home but her care worker seems to think that it won’t help her.
She has recently realised we know what she is doing to her so is now getting receipts for everything that is bought, but it doesn’t help after years of splurging most of her money already. We are stuck. She is coming home for her birthday next year and we are trying to persuade her to stay because we can’t do a lot else for her.
