  • I’m a smoker and definately it should be banned. You’re not allowed to smoke in private rented accommodation so why should council be any different! Even if I was allowed I wouldn’t as wouldn’t want my kids breathing that smoke in! ☺

  • If it’s not affecting you, why does it matter? Someone pointed out it makes things yellow and your house smell but I don’t see how it affects you personally if someone smokes in their own home

  • I’m a smoker and I agree. Smoking should be banned! Especially if you have children it’s. Dirty and after a while coats everything with a layer or tar. I knew of this man who lived in a small flat. And when he moved out the walls were brown and sticky. The light fittings had also gone brown and the carpet stank really bad! That’s not fair on the poor soul who has to clean that up after. Plus it clings to all fabrics. Nasty

  • I am a smoker and I 100% agree with this. When I moved into my house (which is actually private rent but same difference) it stank of smoke and everywhere was about 4inches think in nicatine stains! I had to scrub the place all over and change all the wallpaper/paint everywhere and rip up all the carpets. It was foul. It literally took me months to get rid of the smell. (I wouldn’t have moved in had I known how bad it was). It’s not fair to inflict it on the next tenant! I always smoke outside. Plus if your in a flat or terraced house your neighbours have to put up with the smell coming thru the ceiling/walls and it’s not fair for them. My mum really suffers with her asthma when her neighbours have been smoking heavily in their room as it’s right next to their bedroom and comes thru the walls. X

  • I was a smoker and I couldn’t agree more, I own my house and I never smoked inside! Didn’t want the “fagnolia” effect and it stinks! I used to work in a bar when you could smoke in them and I hated it! Rented wether private or council it shouldn’t be allowed, it’s not their property at the end of the day and wether they move or not in the end someone else is guna have to fund redecorating and getting rid of the honking smell once they’re gone!
