So I’ve been with my partner 3 years. We have a 4 month old together and he has children from a previous marriage. 1 of his other children live with us and he’s 16.
I’ve been offered a house in a nice area, cheaper rent, new kitchen ect only down fall is the living room is smaller. (The oldest boy never comes downstairs anyway).
My partner has now told me to not take the house because his son doesn’t want to move because he cba.
I’m due to get paid nothing from work in December and I cannot afford to stay there much longer.
The plan was to always move to this new house but because his son doesn’t want to my partner is now saying we have to stay or I move and we split up.
Am I wrong for thinking a 16 year old shouldn’t be dictating our lives when he does literally nothing in the house but lay in bed and play Xbox?

Your 100% right. I don’t care if my child’s 25 if they live under my roof it’s by my rules and that includes moving house. You do what’s best for you xx
