Can I get a private post please.. NOT.. We found out today that my nan has around a year left 😢 I really want to do her something special. She’s very ill and bed bound. I want to show her how much I appreciate everything she has ever done for me and my son and how much we love her. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do?? Also my son is 5. He loves my nan to bits. I’m not sure if I should tell him what is going to happen or not and weather I should take him to the funeral or not when it comes to it?? Please help.. I feel so numb 😢😢

Hi hun, I’m in the same position my grandma has been given maximum a few months 😔. We are all so close to her and she has done a lot for us. My son is also 5, I have explained to him that she is very poorly and that she is going to pass. I think it’s important that they are prepared as the heart break in the family is going to be hard to deal with. If they are expecting Everyone to be upset then then it won’t be such a shock when it does happen. In terms of the funeral I think I’ve decided that I won’t bring him. I think it will be too distressing for him to see everyone he loves in such distress. I’m really sorry for your bad news, just spend as much time with her as you can, I’m sure she knows how much she means to you! Feel free to inbox me if you want to chat 💗💗
I know it’s a shock but the best thing you can do for her is just be there, she knows you appreciate everything she has done for you . I helped care for my nan with my mum and when she died it hit me and mum the most . Just make lots of lovely memories for you and your son to treasure xx
