My LG who is 7 weeks has this birth mark in between her shoulder blades which has been there since birth. Its quite big and doctor said it is fine.
However today i have noticed some dots on her which are the same colour as the birth mark. One on her leg, the side of her calf, a very faint one just coming up on her knee, and also a tiny one on the back of her head.

Cant get to a GP now till Monday.

I was just wondering if anyone else’s baby has this and if its normal….she is well in herself in general and feeding fine.

Thank you

  • My little girl is 15 weeks and has a huge one on her leg, it wasn’t present at birth but over a couple of weeks got much bigger and bumpy, however over the past couple of weeks it is getting patches in it that are starting to fade already. Wouldn’t worry too much but when they are coming up on your newborn it is quite scary. But like others have said if it’s worrying you mention it to your GP x

  • They look like strawberry marks, they’ll probably get a lot bigger then slowly start fading. But if it puts your mind at ease definitely go to GP

  • They are strawberry marks. 3 out of 4 of my children have had them. They might get bigger but usually go away after a few years. All of my childrens are gone x

  • One of mine has two on her stomach and a large one on the back of her leg…they have faded slightly to a lilac/faded purple…she is 13.

  • The larger on is called a Strawberry Nevas, they usually fade over time.
