Can I have a PP please.

My lb has this sort of rash on his bum. It has been going on for months and turned out he may be dairy intolerant. He’s not had any dairy but he now has this really bad rash it’s really chapped and red raw. The picture I’ve taken just after putting some Vaseline on. Does anyone have any ideas please I’m at my wits end, we have tried every cream going (sudacrem, vaseline, nappy rash cream, e45, and been the doctors 3 times and nothing). πŸ™

  • Yellow metanim is really good. Also does he have soya or goats milk products? Because cows milk allergy babies can also react to those too x

  • Oh my lord don’t put Vaseline on it!! It’s a barrier not a moisturiser. It stops anything getting to the skin and dries it out more. You should use Vaseline on healthy skin to stop the elements getting to your skin. My daughter had the worst nappy rash, it used to bleed daily and her skin would peel away. It was horrendous!! Went back and forth to the doctors for months and tried all the creams available. Metanium was ok but it’s gritty and it made my skin crawl to put it on her sore bum and the rash came back after. We tried steroid creams but the rash would always come back UNTIL we tried Savlon!! Absolute miracle cream!! It was better the day after and after a few days it had disappeared completely and never came back. At the 1st sign of any nappy rash on any of the kids the Savlon went on and it worked every time! It’s incredible!! Xx

  • My daughter has something similar but not sure if its the same as it was on her tummy and was heaps of round areas it’s called pityriasis rosea, it originally was started from an allergy and flares up. It takes 8/10 weeks to clear. Give it a google πŸ™‚

  • http://www.metanium.co.uk You can have an allergy to the nappy and or wipes as well. I’d suggest changing nappy brand and wipes brand and using the treatment version of the cream I gave you a link to. My child had awful nappy rash when he was teething and this was the only one that helped and was extremely quick to help his rash! Ensure that in between each nappy change and bath your child is completely dry to combat moisture worsening it! x

We are currently using size 4 pampers nappies pull up pants. I’ve noticed when he goes to his nans she uses mamia nappies and he comes back with almost a clear rash after 6 hours.
We give him alpro soya growing up milk it seems to have appeared since having this milk is there anything else we could give him for calcium instead of this? X

  • My son had a rash similar that wouldn’t go away, we used what is known as 50/50 GP advised and also someone who worked in carehomes (used on elderly who don’t leave bed)

Zinc and castor oil, think layer and then Vaseline on top think layer it may look messy but it does work and change nappies more often, it meant we went through what would one & half/ two weeks in just one week. Hope you get something sorted. If in doubt maybe change brand but do give them a few days to see how they will work. πŸ’žπŸ’žπŸ’žπŸ’ž xx

  • We had this a lot. the yellow metanim cream is good but you need to use it at first sign and keeping using it after rash has gone for a while. We found out daughter rashed if we used any different nappies or wipes. She got it Every time she was teething and poorly. We had to stick to pampers nappies and pampers sensitive wipes. Also the rash got irritated and worse if we left her in wet or soiled nappies too long.

  • 100% swear my metanium! It’s in a little yellow tube and works in hours! My daughter once had nappy rash so bad she blead, GP gave her a cream she turned out to be allergic to then I tried metanium and it cleared it by the time she woke up! She was then like a different child… xx

  • When my daughter was a baby she used to get very sensitive skin and would get bad nappy rash. Try change the brand of nappy see if any of them are better if not maybe even try diapers. And o found leaving her without a nappy on in the house was good and it helped potty train her too x X

  • Change nappies. The only nappy that used to give my little boy a rash was asdas. Try a few different ones. I’m sure if you contacted the companies they might send a sample pack or a voucher for money off.

  • If u can leave him with nappy off as much as possible so that it can breathe. Is it possible he could have eczema ? Don’t use Vaseline that will just stop the skin breathing and make it worse.

  • Try bepathen.
Also try and bath him without any bubble bath and dry him off properly leave him nappy free for as long as you can each day it should help reduce the soreness x

  • Do u breast feed ? Strange I no but put breast milk on it or bath baby in milk then put powder on it to dry up . I wouldn’t put any wet creams on it as will sweat in nappy and hurt morex
