Can I have a private post please.
My daughter is 4 nearly 5 and has asked for her ears pierced and I’m in 2 minds to let her, I’ve explained to her it can hurt and she is still wanting to go ahead. We are at the very start of the holidays so if she does this would be a perfect time. How’s old were your little ones when they got there’s done ? And should I let her? 😊 thanks x

  • Id say let her! She has chose to and you’ve told her it hurts and she still wants to let her do it 😊 I had all my girls done as babies! ***bad mum alert*** 🙈

  • I don’t agree withering babies have an pierced but when a child is asking and you have told em the pain and they still want it doen then I would let em. I have two girls age 8 and 5, if they ask I would let em now cos they have their own mind to make a decision

  • Ehat ever you decide please go to a trained piercer. The manner Claires do it is traumatic for the skin, they are not qualified piercers and theres a huge risk of infection as neither the jewellery nor the gun are properly sterilised.

  • Both mine had them done at Claire’s.
    Both age 6.
    1st daughter 3 years ago
    2nd daughter 3 weeks ago.
    I cleaned both as required.
And both the girls had to have the earing removed.
    Due to a reaction.
Both where upset and left with holes & lumps on the ears.
I’d have a good think about it xx

  • Me and my sister were 12 or older, me and 1 sister were Okay, my other 2 sister’s got infections from the piercings and one has scars on both ears, I’d always recommend waiting til they’re older cos you don’t know how they’ll react to getting them done

  • If she has asked I would say let her my daughter asked for her 7th birthday didn’t use Claire’s,we went to a local hair dressers that had trained people in no problems. She cried for a couple of seconds and ignored me for about 20 minutes as apparently it was my fault lol but then cuddled me and said thankyou x

  • Its your daughter’s body and her choice, but do not go to somehwere like Claire’s or anywhere that isn’t a professional piercing place. The staff are very untrained. If you go to a professional piercing studio, you’ll get better quality, and it will be done with a needle which is safer than a gun

  • Personally don’t agree with it. I think secondary school at the earliest so they’re old enough to make an educated decision, but each to their own xx

  • If she asks and u have explained then I think you should allow it, she is old enough to understand, just make sure she knows that it can hurt. Xx

  • If she wants it yes just make sure they do both ears together! It makes more sense to do it now in the hols as she couls struggle in school with them first done

  • My daughter was asking for years but we only let her get them done in April, she is 10 and is able to clean them herself.
