Can I have a private post please

I split with my ex 5 years ago during the split he moved in with his mum and had our 2 kids 2 nights a week, they both got chicken pox and his mum wouldn’t let them in her house but I pushed for him to have them as I worked and him and his brother ended up intimidating my mum and hitting her in a row because I was at work he wanted to leave the kids there, he was arrested but released without charge due to her word against his! After that he didn’t see our kids for 10 months and then started having them 2 nights a weeks again.
April 2016 he started having them half the time 7 days each which has been ok (of cause I miss them but it’s better than a legal battle) so 18 months he’s been consistent except when he and his new gf went on holiday lying saying he was working and left them with me for 3 weeks I’ve also taken them abroad twice and camping trips and caravan breaks in this time which results in him not having them. But last week he asked for the benefits for one of the kids which I’ve agreed to but I have no trust in him and said I’d transfer the benefits into his bank each week but he won’t except it because he will get more if he claims himself and is now just making my life hell throwing accusations at me being money grabbing etc! I just need advice on what to do? I work so would have to pay solicitor fees so want to try and avoid if possible
