Can I have a private post xx Posting on behalf of my friend who is too nervous to ask.
Please no bashing I feel down enough as it is.
I recently lost a very good job due to mental illness. I have had to claim housing benefit however it is not enough to cover my rent and I have been served with notice to vacate. I don’t know what to do. The council are not being helpful at all and there’s no way I can afford another private rent!! I don’t have children or a partner. I don’t mean to bash mums but I feel like I’m being punished for NOT having umpteen kids and working all my life šš I’m at my wits end and terrified I’m going to end up homeless, please someone tell me there is a light at the end of the tunnel? Is there anything else I should be doing? Thanks in advance x

Go back to the council and ask to apply fir discretionary housing payment. You can get extra help depending on your circumstances.
Go to the Citizens Advice … I’m sure they will point you in the right direction x
If you have mental health problems they have a duty of care
