Could I have a private post please, my 6yo boy keeps pooing himself like everyday sometimes a few times a day, I’ve took him to docs who said he has just got himself in to a bad routine and gave me some medicine to get him going regularly, I have been giving him it everyday for the past 2 weeks like the doctor said but things are still the same, I have tried taking his favourite toys & the tablet of him when he has a accident as I know he feels the pool coming out as he always has the same look on his face and goes quiet. I’ve changed his diet to a more healthy one despite the tantrums, I’ve tried rewarding him when he does make it to the bathroom on time so I know from this that he’s more than able to make it on time, I’ve tried speaking to him about how he’s a big boy now and he can’t keep on doing this his answer always is I’m sorry mummy I keep forgetting I’ll try my best the next time but still nothing changes, he’s been sent home from school a few times as he’s stinking up the class and his little bottom gets really red raw and sometimes he can’t sit down properly, also sometimes he won’t go for up to a week at a time until it forces it’s way out which then results in more days of school, he’s also getting teased of other kids which makes me feel like a failure as a mum as he is well old enough to remember to go on time, this is now causing problems with his dad and me as he says I should leave him sitting in his own shit and not help with cleaning his bum but I know if I do this he will stink even more of poo and he will end up with a sore infection, and he now tries to his his dirty underwear and tells me he’s not poo’d but clearly I can smell it, I need to check his bum at least every other hour just to make sure as I don’t want him getting another sore bum, tonight I snapped, I screamed at him, put him up to bed early with no toys tablet or TV and this ended up in a massive argument with me and his dad (he works all the time so it’s always me dealing with it) I feel really bad for shouting at my boy, his dad said it’s my fault for babying him to much but the thing is he only started doing this since we moved away from our families in Scotland to be closer to his dad’s work place in England so I’m not sure I the change has anything to do with it or if it’s just him being lazy, he also refuses to wipe his bum at all unless I am stood there telling him to wipe again and again, I will be taking him back to the doctors next week for further advice but has any other mums had the same problem and what did you do? A few people have said that he will grow out of it but it’s affecting him now with school and making friends when he’s already the odd one out for having a Scottish accent, he’s my first and only child and I am trying my hardest to deal with this without getting myself and my boy upset but feel like I’m fighting a losing battle 😩
