Hello could I have another private post please.
The situation is my dad passed when I was 17… pretty useless, had terrible trouble with alcohol and substance abuse. MY mum got with my step dad when I was 7 (now 21), married a few years later and together happily ever since. From day one my step dad had stood up and treated me like I was his own daughter( he wasn’t able to have any children of his own). I’ve now made him a papa with my amazing son! He really couldn’t do anymore for me or my son! Thing is I really want him to become legally my “dad” for the sake of if anything were to happen to me or my partner he has a say on what happens with my son. I’ve tried researching but because I’m over 18 I’ve know clue how to go about it or who to speak to. Can anyone help?
