Hello if it’s not too much hassle could I have a PPP?

A bit of background info: my daughter is about 3.5 months old and this weekend just gone I had to go back to work. The problem is that to avoid paying childcare costs, my OH works mon-fri and I work sat & sun. I have to squash a weeks work into two days so I end up working 7am- 10pm on both Saturday and Sunday. This means my two children don’t see me from bedtime (8pm) fri til waking (7am) Monday 🙁

Now my OH told me the baby was hard to settle in her cot last night. I just tried to put her to bed at 8 and though tired she was having none of it even though normally she’s out like a light. I brought her downstairs and she chilled for a bit before eventually falling asleep in her bouncer so I took her back upstairs and went to pop her into the cot but once I put her down she started crying again and I had to fight to get her to go back to sleep which has never happened before.

My question is, at 3.5 months is it possible my baby remembers me putting her to bed fri night and then disappearing for two days? 🙁 is she now basically afraid to sleep there incase I don’t come back again?
Or is she just going through a little awkward patch do you think?
Thanks x

  • When he said she was hard to settle in her cot- did he then Eventually manage to get her back down in her cot? Or did she settle another way and then making it harder for you then to be able to settle her tonight if she’s remembered previously. There’s normally a 4 month regression as well – look up the wonder weeks if you haven’t already it’s really helpful x

  • my baby did this from about 4 months old, just point blank refused to sleep in the cot, woke up the second he was in there, he would only sleep in my bed, i never gave him a dummy from birth so i tried a dummy whilst putting him down and he sleeps all night in his cot now, white noise/hairdryer sounds on youtube helped too xx

  • It will be the change. Just stay firm and she will get used to it. My small one was the same x x
