Hi just after abit of advice.
I split from my sons dad a year and a half ago because of domestic abuse. Police were involved, I moved house out the area due to harrassment. The threats have been on and off over this time, recently they have got worse so I have reported them to the police. I tried to make it so we had no contact and a member of his family did pick ups and drop offs for my son to see his dad but on week 1 they let me down which resulted in me having to see him to get my son back and he threatened me again. The police have advised to stop contact now and that he should get a court order. Ive never stopped him seeing his son throughout this time. I looked into mediation at first but I’m unsure if it will make any difference as the issue is us not having contact, not him seeing his son. My question is would a court order put it legally in place so that someone in his family has to do the pick ups and drop offs (we meet half way)? I am unable to get legal aid but at the moment I’m not in a situation where i can afford to pay for a solicitor, would i need a solicitor?
I have this overwhelming feel of guilt about it all, but i need to protect myself and my son from witnessing this.
