Hi can I have a pp please need some advice on what to do! Me and my partner were arguing yesterday morning (general pretty argument over him not tidying up after himself stupid I know) unaware that the health visitor was outside our house. Next thing the police turn up and both health visitors have give statements saying they could hear lots of shouting and kids crying which was a LIE because the kids were absolutely fine playing at the kitchen table with their toys. The police were lovely and told my partner to leave for a couple of hours to let me calm down. We don’t argue a lot but when we do I get very emotional / angry as I’m suffering with serve postnatal depression at the moment and have done for the past 16 months. Anyway the health visitor continued to do her job weighing the kids etc and asked me how my toddler got a bruise on her lower back. So I said I don’t know probably from playing with her sister (there’s 10 months between them both) she then went on to do a check of my other children and did a check of the house with the police!!!! She’s reported this to Social services !(never been invoked with them in my life) I’m making myself sick with worry I know they’re just doing their jobs but everyone argues my children are well looked after clean loved and fed we have plenty of support from both family’s. Can anyone give me ANY advice on what to do please? What will happen? My children are absolutely everything to me and my partner I’m heartbroken 😢😢😢😢😢😢💔💔💔

  • I work in the NHS and this is protocol. Please don’t stress over it, the HV doesn’t know history etc and needs to treat everyone the same, there will have been cases where parents say ‘it’s nothing’ etc and harm has come to a child so rather it be that way. It’s a guilty until proven innocent approach when it comes to children but I think that’s the best way xx
