Hi, can I have a private post please?

I started maternity leave 22nd August and had my daughter the next day. I was due to go back to work on 3rd May, but then was told I was being made redundant, with my last day of employment being 3rd May. So I met with my manager to give back my work phone etc and that was that. I signed on to receive Jobseeker’s Allowance, but at the moment the thought of leaving my daughter to go to work is giving me awful anxiety and panic attacks. I know I have to work, and I do want a job (looking for part time) and I worked full time for years before having my daughter.

Would I be able to kind of resume my maternity leave until August as you’re entitled to a year? And cancel my jobseekers claim? Or because I technically worked on 3rd May and then signed on does it invalidate the rest of my maternity leave?
