Hi can I have a private post please
I’m looking for some advice, I have two children 9 and 7 from a previous relationship, they stay with their father every weekend, he is currently (or I’m meant to believe) claiming job seekers allowance so is not expected to pay and child maintenance, he does not help at all, I pay all the children’s expenses because I do work 16 hours a week, I also send money with them when they stay with their father. But things have changed recently, on the odd occasion I ask him if he can have the children in the week for me he makes an excuse not to have them and the children have told me that he does have a job! I have asked him but he says they are lying, he is not someone who you can talk to, he’s very defensive and argumentative. My question is this.. is there a way I can find out if he is claiming job seekers still? I’m don’t want to do things behind his back but I’m tired of paying out for everything and if he does have a job then I can stop sending him money for the kids every weekend, any advice would be grateful, thanks -uk

People on jsa are entitled to pay child maintance, only £5 a week but its something. If you’re unsure about if he is working or not you can contact child maintance with his name, age, d.o.b, and address and they will find out for you
He still has to pay csa even if he’s on jsa… my fiancé got charged £5 a week for his 3 boys
Contact child maintenance again & say that you believe hes working? Theyll chase up his national insurance number. Id grass him up aswell 😏
Only way you can is going through csa xx
