Hi can I have a private post please?
Just looking for some advice and experience with children with tics. My 5 Year old has developed some intense motor tics, it started with blinking earlier in the year which then stopped, then he started raising his arms up in a quick motion. He is in a period of uncertainty at the mo as I am 33 weeks pregnant and he is not happy with the prospect of a baby being around and we have also been looking at new houses to try to save some money. I also suffer with PTSD which has been particularly difficult with this pregnancy so I have been up and down like a yo yo too. He went to his grandparents last week and whilst there his grandparents received news that his uncle died (who he didn’t really know) so his grandparents were understandably upset. He came back to me with a much more pronounced arm tic and also a new one where he is throwing his head back. One tic is triggering the other now. Then we had Xmas and it was chaos at home and his tics were extreme. The last couple of days have been much calmer and he has chilled out a lot but I want to know what I can do to help him manage it. It’s not realistic to just stay at home every day so he can stay calm and chilled. Anyone have any experience or anything they can suggest? Thanks for reading
