Hi I’m sorry I just don’t know who to ask. I’ve just realised I STUPIDLY put my 10 week old baby’s Dummy in my mouth to clean it this afternoon and then put it back in her mouth! Is she going to get ill? I’m a very nervous mum. Can you offer any advice? X

  • No not at all I used to sterilise my first every time she dropped it in the floor up until she was 1 then with my second I used to just suck on it and put it back in. Over time you learn there more resilient then you think

  • Someone put my sons dummy back in his mouth after it fell on the living room floor when he was about 2 weeks old without even giving it any form of wash 🙈 he was fine but got thrush – not sure if it was related. She’ll be fine.

  • Don’t worry it’ll be fine but don’t be alarmed if she gets thrush of the mouth, my son did and it’s pretty common. It’s just bcz they can’t handle the bacteria we have in our mouths x

  • Highly unlikely, they could catch a cold or something from you, which they probably would anyway. But if you are well it’s not going to do any harm, especially as a one off. X
