I was wondering if anyone would able to talk to me about their experiences & maybe ease my mind a little.
I’m only 16 weeks pregnant but my sister went into labour yesterday. Her waters broke & she was having quite regular contractions but when she went into hospital she was in for an hour & then they sent her home. Then she went back to the hospital when the contractions got even worse but they still sent her home. They tried to send her home a third time but she refused & then ended up having the baby 20 minutes later.
This is her 5th child & she said she’s never had that problem before but even when she knew the baby was coming very soon they were still trying to send her home.
I’m really worried because this is my first baby so I really don’t know what to expect. I won’t know when is the right time to go into hospital & if they keep sending me home. I have no way of getting there & back quickly as neither me or my partner drive. If they send me home I will most likely get stuck at home.
It just doesn’t seem right that my sister was in active labour in ALOT of pain & they were making her travel 20 odd miles back & forth to the hospital continuously, if they sent her home a third time she would of had the baby in the car.
It’s just making me really scared and worried, because I’m terrified enough about the labour as it is but now I feel like the hospital won’t be there to support me & they’ll just want me in & out as quick as possible.
Thanks in advance for any advice given.
