I’m in need of some help and advice on what some may find an odd topic so please no bashing… I currently have a 14 year old daughter who over the past few years hasn’t been your typical teen she’s been having councilling and it has recently come to light after I had a discussion with her that she’s not happy and for a long time has felt she’s in the wrong skun and is determined and adamant she wants to be a boy she feels trapped and is terrified of those around hers acceptance, she’s asked me to look into changing her name (from girl to boy ie Michelle to Michael) I’m doing my absolute best to support her but I’m not sure where to start she is v wise for her age and has never been one to voice something unless absolutely certain I’m just wondering if anyone else has gone through the same thing and can maybe advise on how to approach this situation
