Just after some advice from any other mums and dads really. Iv been with my partner just over a year, my youngest age 5 has said that she wants to ask him if she can call him dad. She doesn’t see her dad due to court order. She said she wants to make him a card to ask. She’s well aware that he isn’t her real dad. I haven’t spoken to him about this yet as he’s in work, just wondered if anyone else had been in similar situation really. He’s an amazing role model to all my kids, and I obviously see a future wit him. Thank you and please keep anon

I met my partner when my child was 1 we went on a holiday with my partners family when he was 2 and a bit and he started calling him daddy so all the partners family did this as Well as they assumed he had been doing it before the holiday.. I spoke to my partner privately and asked if that’s what he wanted he said yes and so for 4 years that’s how it’s been .. my child doesn’t see his biological father either
I think that is adorable! She is obviously old enough to make her own decisions and sees him as her dad so go ahead and do it.. record it for a memory.. I remember watching a video of a 16 yr old giving her step dad adoption papers for his birthday and it was lovely.
