Looking for some advice please – my mother in law said yesterday that her sister has come over (she lives in auz) and has brought gifts for my two younger kids, however I have another child who is not my hubby’s, I’ve been with my hubby since she was 4 and obviously doesn’t remember life without him being in it. His aunt came over a few years ago and only gave gifts to my kids I have with my hubby and left her out, she gave the gifts to my mother in law who gave the kids gifts while my other daughter looked on, i felt so bad i dudnt know what to do, i didnt know she wss going give them gifts!

The aunt is back over again and the mother in law advised she has bought my two other kids gifts, she didn’t even mention my other daughter, which I think she should have said something as it’s her sister in law for over 50 years!

So I decided tonight to send the below message to the aunt;

My mother in law said you have a gift for my younger two kids, that’s very kind of you and thank you for thinking of them. It’s a bit difficult to say but I’m not sure you are aware I have 4 children, well she is 19 and away to uni but **** is 12 and has been part of the family since she was 4. I’m not wanting to cause any issues but I couldn’t accept gifts for **** and ***** where **** gets left out as she is my daughter and still a child and I wouldn’t want her to feel left out and get hurt.
I hope you understand my situation.

Have I over stepped my mark? Xx
