My baby is 8 weeks old and has reflux so bad won’t stop crying 😫 I’ve been giving her gripe water infacol calpol today as she had her first jabs she’s on aptamil stage one and I use mams bottles
She always crys when going for a poo every 3 days and past week she keeps being sick I have rang health visitor but she still hasn’t got back to me.
Do you think changing her milk to aptamil comfort milk might help? Or if anyone knows anything else that could work she is in so much pain bless her

  • My wee boy had bad reflux. Tried everything.. prescription milk, all different bottles.. infacol, dentinox, was prescriped carobel for his milk? losec mups then omperprazole (liquid) none of which seemedd to be working. I put him onto aptamil comfort and was like a completely different baby. I didnt like the reflux milk as it made him constipated and just added to the pain. Hes now 6 months and still on aptamil comfort x

  • My baby had reflux, she would projectile vomit after every feed. I took her to gp and the prescribed baby gaviscon. It worked brilliantly. Although she also needed a bit of lactose as gaviscon and hungry baby milk (not sure about comfort) can cause constipation. We had to keep her upright for 30 min after every feed and raise one end of her bed. I was worried I was wasting the doctors time but he was lovely.

  • My son suffered really bad!
I put him onto the aptimal anti-reflux milk which made a massive difference!
    With the NUK bottles…
Also I baught reflux mats to put inside the mosses basket & pram to ease up… cos it’s so discomforting for them to be lay flat 🙁
he was also prescribed gaviscon & ranitidine from his doctors
And it’s like he was a completely different baby
I would definitely ask your doctor to prescribe medicine and change the milk! X

  • Check for a tongue tie first as its quite a common issue and biggest symtom is reflux and qlot of crying for a bottle fed baby. Simple fix without any meds so worth a look.

Also look into cows milk protein intolerance and see if any other symtoms are starting to come through as it could be a buildup reaction.

Failing all that speak to your gp for infant gaviscon and see how you go. Dont start changing milks without a drs or hvs advice.

    Good luck x

  • My daughter had really bad reflux to the point she stopped gaining weight!… she was on prescription milk called neocate as she’s also cows milk intolerant and she had a milk thicker called carobel in to help keep the milk down and it worked wonders! No problems at all

  • Ask your gp if they can prescribe infant gaviscon, works wonders.the powder goes in the milk,it reacts with the stomach to form a gel,bit like a thickening agent, the gel then thickens the milk to make it harder to come back up xx
