Any advice from someone in HR? I am really upset and angry with my manager. I have worked and trained in my job since the role was first set up almost 5 years ago. I am pregnant, I have felt discriminated in the past by my current manager. Zero problems with my last one. She also broke confidentiality by telling everyone I was pregnant before 12 weeks. HR brushed over it and I accepted nothing could be done. I want to go full time as I have worked part time for so long and finally my childcare costs are significantly reduced. Had a feeling she would go behind my back and how right I was upon finding my position up for full time employment up on NHS jobs. She never asked if I wanted full time hours despite being aware I did. Is this discrimination? Can I even do anything about this? I will apply without any prior notice and see what happens. My position is specialised so I can pretty much guarantee nobody else will be trained who applies. We train them. I am so angry right know. How funny my instinct told me to look this up!!! I cannot believe she didn’t tell me this.

I work for the NHS too and by rights ur manager should be actively encouraging you. U should be speaking about stuff like more hours and ur 5 year plan within ur pdp’s. If the job is going full time that doesn’t automatically mean it’s urs for the taking as they still have to go through HR. But u should 100% be in for a good shout as u r currently seeking full time employment and u r trained in that job. They would be silly to offer it else where as it costs to much to train new staff xx
If the position opens up for full time they have to give everyone an equal chance to apply
Don’t think they have to honour it… it depends if the work is there a available x
If you are permanent and not on a temporary contract then you have first refusal of the full time hours x
Or has maybe another position became available?
Are u in a permanent position?x
