I’m 20 weeks pregnant and me and the child’s father have split up. We have spoken about the child’s future and he wants to give maintenance for the child but to keep it between us and not get the government involved, he says it would be easier. This is my first child, so I was just wondering if anyone else has kids who’s father pays maintenance and how much would be a reasonable amount per week/month?. Bearing in mind he doesn’t need to pay anything until it’s born, as I’ve already bought everything the child will need when it’s born, such as pushchair, clothes, carseat, bottles ect for my home and his. He earns £1300 a month. Thankyou 😊
