I am really struggling with my nearly 3 year old. He is slow with his speech but that isnt my main worry. Socially he is so hard work especially around men…hes not so bad with women that he is familiar with. As soon as a man draws attention to him he gets so scared and sometimes starts shaking..as soon as someone give him attention its like a switch goes off and he has a meltdown. He is fine in large crowds as long no1 is directly looking at him…i have to think twice about even taking him to the supermarket. Also if someone comes to my house i have to tell them before not to call him directly and let him open up himself is he wants.He also gets angry really quickly. I am a 1st time mum and really struggle some days…his dad works 6 days a week and is hardly home so sometimes i feel like a single parent. Does anyone elses kids do this…i feel like mine is the only one. All my family keeps telling me its a phase..is it really or is it something more?! He is being referred to a peadiatrician on January when he turns 3. He is getting help from Portege (a team that comes once a week to play with him to help with his speech)
