  • The NHS do a free quit smoking service for pregnant women. And they are fantastic! I couldn’t have quit with my 2nd child without them! Ask your midwife or doctor for a referral

  • I want to quit with all my heart, problem being I would have no choice but to go cold turkey as the patches I’m allergic to and all other things like lozenges and gum etc make me throw up like you wouldn’t believe. I’ve also had to come off all medication for both depression and anxiety, my midwife just said to cut down as much as I can and if I think I can quit the it would be fantastic but to try not to beat myself up over it as everybody is different. I know how guilty you feel, I would suggest talking to your midwife and see what support they can offer you xx

  • I stopped soon as I’ve found out with all mine and I’m a smoker I just felt so guilty even if I attempted I smoked half of one with my 3rd and I felt awful and reading posters other week in hospital as I’m pregnant about the affects of smoking and I’m glad I’ve stopped when I found out and won’t smoke again xx

  • Do whatever you need to do o keep your stress down, of course quitting is best but if you keep down to 2 or 3 that is still much better for you and baby so don’t worry.. anything in moderation is fine. X

  • Speak to your midwife if you really want to stop ..it is better for both you and baby if you do stop but some women smoke all the way through pregnancy and go on to have a healthy baby it’s down to you to decide what you want to do

  • Smoked with first baby. Quit completely this time round. Hope to never start again but it is hard. Been quit 30 weeks and I still have a huge craving for them. X

  • You’re on 2-3 a day, that’s better than 20 and much easier to quit from; don’t beat yourself up or it will be harder to quit x

  • I smoked 5 roll ups a day when I was pregnant and felt terrible! I just couldn’t give up I went to see me midwife 3 times about it because I got myself all worked up about it and she said although she shouldnt say she said under 5 a day would very unlikely do the baby harm as studies on smoking whilst pregnant is done on women who smoke 20 Tailor made a day xx

  • I tried to quit full on but I just didn’t have the strength for it I cut down to 3 cigs a day which my midwife said was perfectly fine as long as I was keeping the smoking test in the green, I felt extremely guilty as well every single time but it was either that or shoving a sock in my 3 yr olds mouth and hitting my fella over the head with something hefty

  • You’ve cut down to 2/3 so soon you’ll be able to quit honey i must say well done on doing that you’re doing really well! If you’re struggling to really kick the habit then speak to your GP or pharmacist they can reference you to a stop smoking clinic honey xx well done on doing so well though! Xx

  • They do say that stopping comepletely is more stress on your body and should reduce bit by bit xx
