would it be possible for a pp please? I feel like I am gen going insane so please bare with me for this long, rambling post…
I’ve been with my partner for 4 years. We both have daughters from a previous relationship, his daughter is 4 mine is 3.
His daughter is extremely spiteful to mine. She will put as many toys as she can in her room and shut the door, standing infront of the door to stop my child entering. She will also run away from my daughter and tell her to ‘get lost’, push my daughter off the sofa if she’s having cuddles with my partner.
Now, I get there’s going to be rilvary and my child is no angel. She can be a little bugga but I always, always correct het behaviour and make her appologise and kiss and cuddle my partners child when she’s misbehaved.
my partner doesn’t do the same to his child. this past week if feels like there has been incident after incident. 1. we went out for a family day trip, my child wanted to hold her step sisters hand, her step sister didn’t want to, had a tantrum to which my partner picked her up, cuddled her and gave her sweets. later they had a race, because my daughter won and my step daughter didn’t, again she had a tantrum, again was cuddled and she said she ‘didn’t like…’ (my child’s name. we were on a train, she didn’t want my lg sitting next to her, so my partner said ‘can you move her to the front she just wants daddy time’.
then, my child was playing with her toys, she pulled her out of her room by the arm and my child hit her. I put them both on time out and her mum said ‘why did you put my child on time out her dad disciplines her not you’ (she lives with us 4 nights a week, I work lates so have both girls in the day, her dad was at work)
then, once again a fight over the room (they have seperate rooms with equal amount of toys over) my daughter asked her to play she told her to get out and shut the door, my partner then brought my daughter down stairs and said play down here…
Final one, my partner was home. we were all in the living room I was straightinh my hair. my partners daughter was jumping from one seatee to the next, I said ‘don’t do that babe because these are very hot and will burn you’ I then asked my partner to tell her to stop, he didn’t he was just looking at his phone. I then bent down to unplug them and she jumped and landed on them, burning her arm. I felt awful and cried took her to hosp who said thankfully it was a superficial burn. I rang her mum and explained. appologized and said how sorry I was. she then sent me a text staring she was extremely annoyed at me and what sort if a mother was I to let this happen?
I told my partner who said just ignore her. I said please say something to her as it was not my fault he said you’re over reacting..
she’s asked my partner to take her to London which he’s booked off, I asked him to book off my our sons first birthday ( who was stillborm) and he asked me that date.
just some clarity, am I in the wrong ir coming across as a pyscho jealous gf?
thanks all

  • He needs to stop being so soft with his kid and learn she needs to not he cuddled when she is misbehaving. She will continue to think it’s okay to kick off throwing tantrums if he won’t tell her off when she is misbehaving. He should support you and tell his ex also that you are doing your best and that you treat them both the same. He is obviously not paying attention an leaving all to you. Which is wrong. He needs to stop being a push over and start putting boundaries in place otherwise it’s gonna start a Wedge between you. You’ll end up resenting him for not being an equal parent and leaving you to be doing it all yourself. It’s all good rewarding but not when it’s in bad behaviour. Xx

  • He needs to grow a bloody back bone and learn to disapline his child, she’ll end up running rings around you both if he doesn’t xx
