first session of mediation, as ex wants contact with son. do I need to prepare anything? like should I write down my concerns or requirements beforehand, do I need bring any evidence of abuse to back up my concerns, etc? any advice would be appreciated, thanks x

Write down all the pros and cons. All your worries. All the evidence/examples as when you get in there you’ll forget things. It’s a very emotive thing so you need to approach it logically without emotion. That is really hard to do based on memory. Get a pad
Save that stuff for court as the mediator won’t be interested, their aim is to have you and your ex talking regarding contact arrangements, if you agree between yourselves in mediation a plan will be written up and put before the court to be made into a child arrangements order, if mediation doesn’t work and you can’t agree then court proceedings will commence and it’s there you put forward your supporting evidence x
Take anything and everything… i had kept a diary luckily and it all helped x
If the other parent isn’t a danger to the child, contact shouldn’t be stopped.
I would write things down so you dont forget and any evidence would be good x
