Hi, can you post a private post for me please on the advice page.
Sorry this may be long… has anyone ever had trouble with the OHs family?
Ive been with my OH for a year and a half and have a 1 month old boy. All throughout my pregnancy they were so nasty to me, weight shaming me because I was skinny and didn’t really have a bump, with his sister saying I starve myself on purpose to become anorexic and that im doing it for attention, also adding that im going to kill my baby because of how skinny I was. Yet I ate like a horse and was a size 12 in clothes, so certainly not anorexic. The further along in the pregnancy the nastier they got.
But once I gave birth they just all kept showing up at the hospital without asking and pretended like nothing happened within the past 8 months. Which I slightly understand as they wanted to see their new family member.
But here’s what bothers me the most. My little boy is 5 weeks old and my OHs family have only ever asked about the baby about 5 times and only seeing him twice some of them not all. Now I understand people are busy especially with christmas but they tell my OH that they’ve messaged me when they haven’t! Me and my OH constantly argue because of the amount of times his family have lied about getting in contact.
The other thing which annoys me with this situation is that his mum treats his ex like more a child that her own son. Now they haven’t been together for over 2 years and only started getting close when I become pregnant which honestly upsets me. His ex constantly stalks our little family and harnesses my OH at work with friends so much so he is getting a transfer to a different town. His family know about this and are not even bothered.
Due to everything that’s been going on I end up staying up all night crying my eyes out because I feel like everything is my fault. I feel like such a bad parent knowing that my little boys family dont even care about him.
Am I overreacting? Just really dont know what to do anymore.
