Hi, could I have a private post please? It’s a bit of a long one I’m afraid….
My step son came to live with us 7 weeks ago as he was having problems at home. We stopped paying his mum as he was staying here but she hasn’t paid anything. He wants to live here permanently but she wants to leave it ‘a few more months’ before officially saying hes with us. She is saying she won’t pay us. Does anyone know how we stand benefit wise? Can I put him on our tax credit renewal/ child benefit claim (we also have two young children together) etc without her saying it’s permanent? Financially it’s becoming impossible without anything in place. Thanks
