Hi there. Could I have a private post please.

Basically my daughter is 2 years old (will be 3 in december) and has been attending nursery since the summer. She is a very VERY shy & emotional little girl, always has been.

Well the past month at nursery the teachers have been telling me that my daughter has been struggling with her emotions and they have put it down to her gran being ill and that it will get better once everything is back to normal. I’ve told them that this is normal for my daughter but they don’t seem to think so, they think there is something deeper..

Like myself sometimes I can’t be bothered with other people and they are saying because my child sometimes likes to be quiet and not play with the other kids that they think more is going on.. She’s reaching all her milestones and is doing everything that a child her age should be but her nursery just never seem happy. Some days I go get her and she’s been “very emotional” then some days she’s been “very quiet” ..

I just constantly feel like they are judging me and as I suffer from G.A.D (generalized anxiety disorder), severe social anxiety and depression. This situation is consuming my life. I feel like I am failing my daughter and for the life of me can’t think how I can better the situation.

I just want to know if there are any mum’s out there with the same shy and emotional child and how to help them overcome this phase, make it easier on them or help me to understand a little more?

Thanks for any advice.

  • No advice but just wanted to say, I suffer with GAD and social anxiety and it is debilitating. Being a mum is hard at the best if times, without anexity thrown in the mix. You’re doing a fantastic job, be kind to yourself xx
